Close WindowNotary Public
A notary has the power to perform various official acts, known as "notarial acts." The Code of Virginia specifies five basic notarial acts: taking acknowledgments, administering oaths, certifying affidavits, certifying depositions, and certifying "true copies" of documents.

Each of these acts has a specific purpose and should be performed with care. Virginia notaries are not authorized to certify true copies of birth, death, or marriage certificates. Only the Division of Vital Records/Statistics may perform such a certification. Virginia notaries are also not authorized to perform marriage ceremonies.

Fees
Our fees are quoted depending on the requirements of each job and the timeframe required to complete the signing. Usually a signing for something like a power of attorney is $150 per hour and can be completed within an hour. However, questions, disputes, calls to lender, or in certain cases like Detention Centers: lockdowns and other unforeseeable circumstances can happen in detention centers, therefore, we bill hourly.
